Happy Halloween!

Help from the Desert

We had a great surprise this past week when my Uncle Tom flew up from Arizona at the last minute to help CK with the house. They got A LOT done and luckily only fought off a dusting of snow. See the results for yourself below:

Thank you so much to Tom (and to Jane for giving him up for a week)!

October videos

Some video excerpts from this past weekend. The first one is called "Reese's musings while driving to Malta". Fascinating to watch the brain of a 2-year old in action :)

Mae & Gay LaFond's 70th wedding anniversary in Malta

We headed up to Malta this weekend for CK's grandparent's 70th wedding anniversary (I know! Impressive!) It was a great time and we got to see lots of family that we don't see very often and help celebrate with the happy couple. Here are some pictures from this weekend:

Reese loves when her cousin Tanner reads to her
Asher and Grandma Jan
Reese pre lasik surgery
Dolled up for the party
Daddy and Asher clowning around
Smiley little man
Proof that Reese is learning many things from her cousins...
CK and Jen trying out the "wooly mammoth chair" as they fondly refer to this chair in their grandparents' basement. Yes that is padded wallcovering on the walls- it's pretty sweet
Reese playing with the puppies
Enjoying all the attention from the extended family...and maybe a nanny in the making?
Everyone needs their dog food rearranged and sorted by color

Nana's Visit

Nana (Carolyn) came to visit last weekend and the kids had a great time. Some pictures as proof:

CK was able to get a lot of work done on the house. As you can see, we have part of a roof!

2 Firsts at 10 months

Asher turned 10 months old on Friday and had two firsts this week. Actually, both on Tuesday. He crawled at daycare for the first time. And Tuesday night he had his first trip to the Emergency Room after he fell off the couch (a certain someone who won't be identified but whose name rhymes with peace may have contributed) and fell face first onto the wood floor. He's fine but it was an eventful day.
This is how Asher sleeps most of the time:
Sadly, the treadmill has become more of jungle gym for Reese than anything else.

Pics from last weekend of the house. This is standing on the 2nd floor (in the mudroom/entryway) looking up at the 3rd floor.
Stairs to the basement on the left, looking towards the dining room and into the back yard
CK demonstrating the current method of getting to the third floor
On the third floor looking back towards the loft and office. Too bad we have to add walls and ruin the perfectly wonderful view!

Standing in the loft and looking down into the living room and out towards Helena
The view from the road
We took the kids to an Octoberfest downtown yesterday and Reese had a great time bouncing

and playing in the hay with her cousin Andrew

and sliding with Kaitlyn

and walking downtown with Daddy and Nana who came to visit all the way from Rhode Island
after a long day, the boys were ready for a nap
