Day at the park

It was a beautiful day here in Show Low and CK, Reese and I headed to the park this afternoon to enjoy some sunshine. Here are some pictures
swinging with Dad is pretty fun
I'm not sure what I think of this whole slide thing
Seriously, is this supposed to be fun?
Maybe if I ride with mom...

New Camera = Pictures!

The camera is here and that means new pictures! First some cute ones of our favorite little person:Reese in her new carseat...who needs socks anyway?

Reese's hair is now long enough that it can actually get messed up during a nap :)The growing belly in profile
Reese's "I'm just chilling out" poseThe new pine ceiling on the cabin
Kitchen cabinets are in
Cabinet over the fridge and pantry on the left
Jane's spa bathroom is almost done
This is the nail that hit a stud and decided to come back out and stab CK straight through his finger. Don't worry Jane, he cleaned up all the blood so I don't think they'll be any stains on your nice white tile :)
The deck is beginning to take shape

And it only took us 30 weeks to get my first belly shot:

Bad drivers

Unfortunately I was in a minor car accident yesterday morning. Not really the way you want to start your day, that's for sure but everyone is fine. I was driving with two coworkers in the car on a 4-lane road (2 lanes on either side). We were heading to work (I was in the leftmost lane) when a Toyota Tundra decided to cross both lanes (from a parking lot or street on the right) to head in the opposite direction we were traveling. Of course, he claims he didn't see us coming because there was a school bus in the rightmost lane and apparently it blocked his view. Of course, logical me says if there's a school bus in your line of sight maybe you should wait until it passes and you can see BOTH lanes before you decide to cross them? Hmmm... Anyway he went for it and ended up stopping directly in front of me perpendicular to my car. All I could do was slam on the breaks and hope for the best. Luckily we were going fairly slow and my breaks were able to slow us down enough that we probably hit him at less than 15mph. The airbags didn't even go off (which is good because given my belly size they probably would have done more damage than anything else). My car had minor damage but we hit him in the left front tire and his axel was pretty bent. He immediately got out and apologized but I'm still not sure how he didn't see us or why he stopped in the middle of the road. Oh well. After filing a police report, dealing with the rental car company and insurance, etc. we made it to work and then to the airport to head home for the weekend. No one was hurt which is the important thing and the baby, of course, had its own little "airbag" so I don't think he/she even woke up :) The worst of the aftermath was captured below. This is my coworker Sajani's breakfast, which she was holding as we were driving and which ended up all over her and the car. Luckily the rest of the day and the airplane ride home yesterday was uneventful :) I'm back in Show Low now. We celebrated CK's birthday last night. And we FINALLY got a new camera so I promise to post new pictures of the cabin and, of course, of Reese this weekend.

Happy Birthday CK!

In case you didn't know, today is CK's birthday.Unfortunately I am in Provo so can't celebrate with him until tomorrow and he is working hard all day installing cabinets so it probably doesn't feel much like a birthday. Jane was nice enough to offer to cook his favorite meal (Beef Pancake roll-ups) tomorrow night. I'm looking forward to it almost as much as he is :)

29 weeks

Today I am 29 weeks 2 days (if you're one of those people who wants to be precise and who puts faith in due dates). I had an ultrasound this morning with the high risk OB here in Provo. It is really convenient, I might add, to just walk across the parking lot to the hospital for my appointments. I will certainly miss that in Helena. Anyway...the ultrasound went great. The baby is absolutely perfect, measuring about 3.5 pounds, right where he/she should be. Everything else looks good, including the placement of my placenta so I should have the opportunity to have a VBAC provided I go into labor before/near my due date of 12/6 AND can get to Great Falls in time :). The doctor I saw today said she wouldn't let me go much past that date because I will have been off of the Lovenox since 38 weeks and the risks just started getting higher after that. So, assuming my doctor in Helena agrees, looks like we'll be having a baby no later than 12/8 or so either way. Below is one of the ultrasound pictures from this morning of Baby LaFond #2. He/she was busy drinking or talking during the whole thing.

Finally...some new pictures

I know, I know. I have been slacking in the picture department lately. We still haven't gotten a new camera yet but I managed to steal some pictures from Jane. Here are some from the past few weeks. As you can see, CK has been very busy on the cabin. The chimney is finally finished
As is the siding (as of today)
Reese enjoying the construction
The fireplace with the mantle that CK made from one of the trees that was cut down
A view from the top
Giving rides on the lift last weekend
Reese on her way to a nap
Tom and Jamie celebrating Labor Day
CK laboring on Labor Day (with a few fans looking on)

Nana and Granddad were up in early August to see the progress (and take in the view!)
