CK's birthday and 2nd floor concrete

We celebrated CK's 35th birthday this weekend. Here he is with his cake last night:Reese trying out the tricycle at Val's house.
With a bent wheel and legs too short to reach the pedals, she decided this was a more effective way of getting the trike to go where she wanted it to
CK and Kaitlyn
Val, CK and Jen all dolled up for family photos
Val, Craig, CK, Jan and Jen- what a good looking family
Apparently Reese had had enough of the noise
Asher enjoying the sun
And playing with Kaitlyn's face
Val and Kaitlyn- think they look alike at all?
Enjoying the slide

The LaPraim family- Kaitlyn, Val, Wyatt, Steve and Andrew
At the park, Asher took in the sights in the backpack. He loved it- even when it wasn't going anywhere
The 3 bandits- Kaitlyn, Lindsey, Andrew
Well yes Grandma, I don't mind if I do steal your lunch
Andrew all smiles
Reese finally let me put pigtails in her hair. It probably won't happen again until she's 8
The little girl (we still have no idea who she is) decided Reese needed some life lessons at the park
Getting a balloon with Lindsey and Grandpa
CK spent his birthday getting ready for the big pour on Friday. He poured the walls for the 2nd floor and the garage. Here are some pictures

Our first meal in the new kitchen. Like our countertops?

Afternoon at the park

So much for the rain, it was 65 and sunny this afternoon so we took advantage of what could be the last nice weekend (you never know, here in Montana it could snow tomorrow) and spent a family afternoon at the park. Reese even found two deer that happened to wander into the park (and were certainly used to people because they didn't move when she ran over to them).

Rain rain go away

It's rainy and chilly here in Montana and is supposed to be that way for the foreseeable future so we've been hanging out inside. Some pictures from this weekend so far:
Asher is finally king of the highchair
as Reese has moved on to the big girl seat at the table
Aunt Jane sent Reese a sequel to her favorite video (The Bears for anyone who doesn't know). It's The Moose video and has great kids folk songs and video of real Moose and other animals.
This was 30 seconds after popping it in. Think she likes it? Thanks Jane!
And these, of course, are for Jeff. His nephew is working on his future career in futbol.

CK's working up at the house this morning so the kids and I are enjoying some down time. The nice part is the entire house is clean because our landlords called us last minute to show it yesterday so I had to scramble to clean yesterday afternoon. Of course, they never showed up to show it but at least I have a clean house and don't have to do it today :)

R @ 2 yrs and A @ 9 mths

The kids went to the pediatrician for their checkups yesterday. Asher was very brave and didn't even cry when they pricked his toe. Reese...well...Reese started the tantrum when we went to get her weight on the baby scale (her last time!) and it didn't get much better after that. Oh well. They are both doing great and here are the latest stats:
Reese: 33lbs6oz, 34.25 in
Asher: 23lbs4oz, 30 in
Unfortunately that means no more infant car seat for Asher as he is now at the height limit of 30 inches.

After being gone for 10 days, it was pretty exciting to see all the hard work CK has been doing on the house. I took a lot of pictures and figured some of you might want to see them so forgive me for those who don't :)
That's one tall wall!

View from the basement looking through the opening that will be the stairwell to the first floor (or second floor depending on how you look at it)
CK moved most of these ridiculously heavy floor trusses by himself
